The Amazon Kindle is a portable e-book device. It features wireless capabilities that allow its users to download e-books, newspapers, magazines and other digital content. In order to download e-books and other content, the Kindle must first be registered with its serial number. The Kindle's serial number is printed on the outside of the Kindle box; if the box is missing, it is also accessible from within the Kindle's 'Settings' menu.
Step 1
Notice: If your books are synced via Kindle for PC/Mac, do NOT input any Kindle Serial Number or PID for removing DRM, which would cause. In general, the Computer Serial Number should be available on the sticker attached to the bottom of the Laptop and on the backside of a Desktop Computer. If the sticker has become faded and the Serial Number is not clearly visible, you won’t be able to find the Serial Number using Settings or by going to System Information Screen.
Turn on your Kindle device and wait for it to power up. Press the 'Home' button.
Step 2
Press the 'Menu' button. Use the Kindle's five-way controller button to underline the 'Settings' item on the screen. Press the controller to enter the 'Settings' menu.
Check the bottom of the screen for the serial number. Your Kindle's serial number begins with 'B00' and is 16 digits long.
